Hats From Our Hearts

SoCal Friends of the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem are sponsoring HATS FROM OUR HEARTS, a project for the children of Israel. Dozens of women are working in homes and/or informal groups, knitting and crocheting infant and preemie hats and mittens that will be donated to the Wilf Children’s Hospital at Shaare Zedek.

Our goal is to give a hand-knit item to every newborn baby upon discharge. In 2021, over 22,000 babies were born at Shaare Zedek – more than in any other hospital in the Free World.

PLEASE JOIN US

To insure that we meet our goal we are looking for many more volunteers who are willing to knit or crochet baby items. We can provide all necessary supplies and patterns.

Even if you don’t knit or crochet, you can help us. We need funds that will cover the cost of supplies. We are an all volunteer group so all of your money goes to the cost of yarn and supplies.

If you are interested in joining or supporting us please contact Terry Storch, Project Chair, 310-229-0915, or via email: terry.storch@yahoo.com. Checks to support HATS FROM OUR HEARTS should be made out to Am. Cmte. Shaare Zedek (or ACSZ) and mailed to ACSZ, 8671 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 712, Beverly Hills, CA  90211 (please add ‘for Hats From Our Hearts to memo line).
